Sculptural dress designing - My new RUBY dress

New from Serendipity Girls Designer Dresses

A gorgeous rich ruby red crystal pleated dress for age 2. It has little short sleeves and pleats fall from the waist. The buttons at the back of the dress are an unusual heraldic design showing a 'coat of arms' - very English! The twisted trim at the waist creates a sculptural feel to the dress design. One of my hobbies is family tree research and I discovered my 5th great grand uncle , Daniel Masters (1712-1746) was a tailor in Swanage, Dorset and he had an 18 year old apprentice to help him for 3 years. At the end of the term Daniel had to make the apprentice a 'goode new suit for Holy-Days and another for the Working-Days'

Age2: Chest 60.5cms 23.5ins Waist 61cms 24 ins Dress length from shoulder to hem is 43cms, 17 ins
92% polyester 8% elastane Machine washable @ 40C but wash with like colours. The fabric does not crease

Little Houses dress & matching shoulder bag - what a lovely quirky fabric print

New from Serendipity Girls Designer Dresses

My latest design is 'little HOUSES' , a charming pinafore dress with scalloped edges on side edges of the lined bodice. The pure cotton fabric is a delightful, quirky design from Denmark. The dress fits age 5 and can be worn with a jumper, T-shirt or blouse underneath. I've also made a cute shoulder bag in matching fabric and red lining to go with the dress. I was very pleased to win #purplebiz online UK Business of the day today (14/8/11). Big thanks to my husband Keef for the website & techie stuff  :D

Azura handkerchief hem dress with Russia gold braid for Age 2

New from Serendipity Girls Designer Dresses

2 year olds can be stylish too! With a subtle gleam of gold. Azura is a lovely deep turquoise blue cotton dress for age 2. This sleeveless style has a handkerchief hem with crisp mitred corners and a square neckline, with a thin Russia gold braid trim. The intense colour of this fabric reminds me of tropical seas and coral islands around Fiji.My dresses are made with care attention to detail and love. They will not fall apart and hems will not unravel, unlike some factory made clothing. The stitching is properly and securely finished , as are the buttons, buttonholes and zips

SerendipityGDDs now has an ETSY shop ✔ ♥♥♥

New from Serendipity Girls Designer Dresses

I have set up a new ETSY shop mostly for the US market but clearly not exclusively. The prices have to be in US$ which means with the fluctuating currency exchange they may be slightly more or less expensive than directly from the website. You may do well before making a purchase to just check both.

I am very pleased with my new ETSY shop and hope to meet many like-minded 'crafters' through it. I have already seen many great little dresses to stimulate my little grey design-cells as Mr Poirot would say.

The ETSY shop is there to complement my Folksy shop and can be found via any of my 3 Fb 'fan' pages or directly on ETSY

If you wish to go directly there click on the dress

or maybe go there via my Fb Products page

I will be adding to the shop over time

My PRODUCTS page & tab on Facebook

New from Serendipity Girls Designer Dresses

I used Pagemodo to help create a quick and easy and more importantly FREE page on my Fb products page. There are easy to use templates and with a bit of artistic flair you can be up and running very quickly.

My products page is still "work in progress" but you will get the idea. It just makes Fb so much more professional.

Let me know if you have used it or what you think. Feedback I have had so far tells me its being well recieved.

Twitter is a great way to PROMOTE your business

New from Serendipity Girls Designer Dresses

I have been using Twitter for quite a while now and initially I didn't really GET-IT, but now I think I do
It is a great place to meet like minded entrepreneurs, make friends and contacts and really use social media as a way of promoting your business and its philosophy and ideas.

Also it helped me learn about great marketing support provided by the following but especially try theopaphitissbs.com

  1. Theo Paphitis of BBC Dragons Den who offers a sponsorship/ approval tweet to all his followers for 6 selected small businesses each Sunday between 5 & 7.30pm via his Small Business Sunday initiative (#SBS)
UPDATE (31/3/12) Theo's own advice at the SBS event in Birmingham was that if you make your biz tweet stand out (quirky or whatever) and you must have a website as he checks , it doesn't have to be great but it has to be there and of course 'random - how i feel on the night' probably plays a part as well, just don't give up.

  2. Jacky Gold of Knickerbox & Ann Summers fame does something similar on a Wednesday between 1 & 3pm called Women On Wednesday where she will retweet to her followers her top 3 small businesses each week via #WOW
  3. Daily @Purpledognet choose to promote their business of the day via #purplebiz, you have to retweet the businesses daily and eventually it will be your chance.
  4. Daily #gbiz choose to promote their business of the day , you have to retweet the businesses daily and eventually it will be your chance.
  5. Daily #mbiz choose to promote their business of the day , you have to retweet the businesses daily and eventually it will be your chance.
So why not have a go, there will be many more marketing helps to be found which I haven't yet uncovered indeed let me know about them, oh and whilst you are reading this maybe join BritMums, there are lots of us now and follow my Blog on the left hand side , quite a long way down. You are too kind.
