This handmade designer cardigan is so bright and colourful that it makes you smile! The folk style crochet cardigan is made in a very soft yarn in red, yellow and pink. It features a round neck, curved yoke and sleeves in a ribbed texture, with the main part in a smoother woven design. There is red ribbing at the neck, sleeve cuffs and down each front band. A red button fastens at the neck.

A handmade crochet cardigan in a soft golden yellow yarn. The front and back are worked in one stitch pattern and the long sleeves feature a different pattern. There is ribbing on the sleeve cuffs, front edging and around the lower edge of the cardi. Five yellow buttons fasten down the front of this unique designer cardigan.

The cardigan measures: chest 25”/63.5 cm, length from shoulder to lower edge is 12.5”/31.5 cm, sleeve length at underarm 8.5”/21.5 cm.

Yarn: 100% soft acrylic DK by UK company Paintbox Yarns

Washing: machine washable 40c on wool or gentle cycle. Suggest item is machine washed in a mesh laundry bag to avoid snagging the garment on other items. Tumble dry on a cool setting.

This cute dungarees style dress is handmade in a colourful Swedish Dala horses and floral print in a heavyweight cotton. The fabric has a navy background and features the traditional Swedish Dala horse toy. The toys are carved and hand painted in Nusnas, a small village in Sweden.
The dress has dungaree clips on adjustable shoulder straps and metal antique style buttons securely sewn on. There is a side pocket and the bodice and straps are lined in the same fabric and top-stitched for strength.

A fairy tale dress that dreams are made of. This gorgeous ankle length dress is ideal for a flower girl at a wedding, party or other special occasion. The dress is the colour of spun gold (like Rapunzel’s hair) and is made in satin crepe and beaded organza. The sheer gold coloured organza has tiny crystal and pearl-like beads scattered across like little raindrops.

The empire line light gold satin bodice has a scoop neck and is fully lined. The little sleeves are made in the sheer organza and edged with gold ribbon. The lower part of the dress has an organza overlay over the satin which is edged with gold ribbon at the hem. The organza twinkles when the crystals reflect the light.

The dress has French seams and a concealed zip at the back. There is a separate sash in the same organza which ties into a bow at the back. This unique and beautiful light gold dress just shimmers and will make a girl feel special.

Strawberry dress by SerendipityGDDs

“What have you done today to make you feel proud?”

I was listening to the inspirational song called Proud, sung by Heather Small, whilst finishing my latest dress ‘Strawberries’. Every dress that I create is a proud achievement when it finally comes together.

Sometimes I start out with a sketched design and then amend it as I go along. Sometimes the addition of a trim or button makes the dress come alive and it ‘steps out of the ordinary’.

The red satin ribbon trim on ‘Strawberries’ was not planned at the beginning but I thought it added zing to the finished dress and emphasised the colour of strawberries. The fully lined sundress is made for a 2 year old and has a lovely strawberry print on cotton voile. As it’s 100% cotton it is machine washable so it doesn’t matter if ice cream gets dropped down the front!

It may be winter here in England at the moment, but its summer in the Southern Hemisphere where our friends and relatives are.

I have designed another stylish yellow sweatshirt dress but this one looks more like a suit! It is for little girls aged 7 and is ideal for autumn/ winter. The dress has a peplum feature at the waist which hits the 40s nostalgia trend and the colour yellow has also featured in the autumn/ winter fashion collections. This dress will certainly get noticed and is smart enough to wear to a party or family occasion.

I have been away from my dress making for a bit with a very busy September helping my son & his fiancee move to Singapore and my husband harvest his grapes for this years vintage.

In England we can feel that Autumn is just around the corner . I revisited Kedleston Hall , Derbyshire (see images below) last week which is a few miles from where I live. The house brings to mind Jane Austen novels . The only trouble was that Colin Firth did not materialise down the grand entrance steps! Derbyshire is a beautiful county with a large national park called the Peak District and it has lovely little villages.

My latest designer dress is called Tiny Hearts ♥♥♥ and is for a 6 year old. The 8 tiny red embroidered hearts around the scalloped hem and 3 hearts on the chest of the dress are significant as we remember the Americans & British who lost their lives on 9/11. I am thinking of them and their families!

Mellow Yellow autumn/ winter dress for age 8. This 60s A-line limited edition dress design is bang on trend for autumn & winter. The long sleeved shift dress is made from a yellow brushed sweatshirt fabric which is warm and cosy with a shocking pink colour pop on the neck and sleeves and back button neck opening. Yellow is a cheerful colour and teamed with hot pink it is very 60s. The slash neckline is a very unusual design.
